Good news, indeed!
And so are rumblings of congressional Dems, especially hints that they may fight an escalation in the Iraq occupation.
I'm not sure, but I think I'm feeling hopeful.
 

I'm feeling really hopeful Mirth. Today in the House the democrats were abusing the republicans and it was so wonderful to watch. The republicans were atrocious to the democrats over the years and today looked really good for them. The democrats remained calm and the republicans were raging lunatics. Awesome!

The anti-Terror bill passed today 299-128 and the democrats should be so proud of themselves! This bill will enforce most of the 9/11 Commission suggestions (they tweaked some them too which is good) and the republicans were furious. Why? Well, let's just say the democrats would like some of these businesses to foot the bill to ensure the containers in our ports are safe and are inspected. They're demanding 100% inspection too, which is good. The republicans didn't want to add any cost to the corporations so their bill they passed catered to the companies.

Oh well! Things are looking up in my eyes. I can't wait for the hearings after what I saw today on the floor of the House!

LOL Smoke! That's exactly how I felt today too. It was so great watching the democrats in action today! I'm pumped up now. I want to see more "shut up and sit down" kind of stuff coming from the democrats again tomorrow. ;-)

Kay, keep talking about hope. There's good reason to believe it! If the Dems smack the urge to splurge the surge...well, that's what I'm waiting for. Senators Kennedy & Byrd speaking out is way encouraging.

BTW: have you seen the new taser gun stories? That's the newest thing to piss us off. I just did a post on them at etr.
 

I watched C Span for a little while and seeing Senator Bernie Sanders in the seat of presiding officer for the day for the United States senate was very encouraging, imagine all the reichwingnuts having to see Bernie Sanders hold the gavel in the senate, when they realize the Speaker of the House is a liberal woman, and the MOST liberal person in the entire congress gets the gavel to lead the senate, their teeny little minds most go into some sort of cognitive dissonance that they have to go back either to the time of immorally bashing President William Jefferson Clinton because they actually LOST two elections, or they want to return to their dream state of Ronald Reagan sitting in the oval office wearing depends while leading the US into bankruptcy.

That is why they keep bringing up Bill Clinton where they illegally hounded him for NO good reason from 1993 until they finally caught him getting a blowjob... too bad for us Condi does not suck and tell like Monica did. They caught him getting a blowjob.....not lying to sent thousands of US troops to die while killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's in an illegal invasion of their country.

Jesus decried both the Pharesees ansd Saducees for their abuse of power....using it to enrich themselves on the backs of the people and he even evicted the grubbing money changers out of the temple for cheating the common people,

BUT he forgave the woman for her sexual transgression while he was still alive...

So I guess Jesus sees stealing from the common and poor people and lying to et and hold power is MUCH worse than getting a blowjob(or giving one)...

Somebody ought to tell the reichwingnuts to actually read about Jesus in that book they like to shove in everybody else's face.
 

Bernie Sanders should run for President.
